It’s a fact – being consistent is easier said than done.
In all transparency, we know this because we've been running this account for over 3 months now, and keeping up with these algorithms has proved challenging. 😅
However, we also note that the important thing is to just keep going.
On that note, here are our 5 tips on staying on track New Comma style …
First, be realistic.
Yes, we want you to dream big, but we want you to achieve even bigger.
The best way you can ensure that your goals are obtainable is by deciphering whether they are realistic.
For example, creating a personal checklist of questions to adhere to will guide you in ensuring that your goals are attainable and ultimately keep you on the ball.
Practical Tips —
This can range from questions such as:
Can it be done within ____ time frame? (Time-related)
Do I have the funds to bring this to fruition? If not, where can I access these funds? (Funding related)
What skills do I need to bring this all together?
If I don’t have all the necessary skills; what external parties can support me with this, if any? (Resources and skills related)
This will limit any possibility of you being in a situation where you have to abandon the project altogether because you simply do not have the capacity or the means.
We see nothing but greatness for you Star ☺️
Motivation means nothing without solid DISCIPLINE.
Constant motivation is a mirage, it's discipline that often gives us the energy to keep going when we start to lose hope.
In building up your discipline, you pave the way for a lifestyle of devotion and set the momentum for respecting your creative practices.
In being disciplined your commitment to excelling and constantly growing as a creative.
Consider ways you can instil firm discipline into your life to ensure you stay on top of your goals and have an unshakeable work ethic.
For example —
*In just a short amount of time, this practice of discipline would enhance your levels of productivity through ensuring you use your time efficiently.
*It also will help you to stay on top of your projects, assessing where you are doing great and not so great so that you can make the necessary improvements each time.
It’s a win-win situation :)
As tempting as it is, a reward is no longer a reward if you’re getting it for every and any little thing… is it?
It's great to acknowledge your achievements, but when the reward becomes a distraction or is given over any little thing, it's probably time to dial it back a bit...
Practical Tips —
*Doing this will create a surge in your productivity as a reward will not constantly interfere with your output because you are no longer randomly deciding on a treat here and there.
*Instead, you are deciding on it way beforehand as a way of celebrating each milestone of your project that you reach.
You will mess up on occasion.
You will get things wrong and
you will want to hit yourself over the head with a pillow because of that.
Those feelings are normal.
That’s why it’s important to get comfortable with the cycle of making mistakes, forgiving yourself, making it right where you can and then moving beyond it.
We can't be perfect all the time, and learning to forgive yourself when you lose focus for a moment makes it easier to get back on track with your mission.
Don’t wallow when there is the option to ✨thrive✨.
‘The day you sow the seed is not the day you will eat the fruit 🍇🍓🍒🍉🍏🍌’.
Remind yourself that what you’re doing is worth all the time it is taking.
It takes time to get to the great heights you are headed for, so be tender with your projects (and yourself!) and be patient with them.
You’re in it for the long haul, shouldn’t that be seen as a wonderful thing?
Star, please be patient, great things take time.
Part of being a creative is learning how to self-manage in order to constantly align with your goals and minimise the chances of things going utterly wrong.
As detailed, self-managing can range from being self-disciplined to just learning to be patient.
As fruitful as the creative industry is, there is much uncertainty and curveballs that come with it.
Creating a strategy on how you want to approach your craft and stay aligned through it all optimises your chance of coming out of each project on top.
Go on and float like a 🦋 sting like a 🐝!
