What reaches the people, helps out the ✨business✨.

People skills make all the difference when working with others to achieve a common goal 🥅.

Being able to collaboratively solve problems is critical in showing where you add value to your business.

Possessing people skills opens up an array of opportunities for you, be it having the ability to bounce 🏀 off your colleagues and have them respond positively, work harmoniously alongside each other or just generally to improve the dynamics you have with them.

Whilst, building your career has been portrayed as a completely individual thing it often requires that you constantly work collaboratively👭🏿👬🏾.

There is only so far your own merits will take you. Being a team player is all the range—don’t get left behind! 🫢

  1. Talk To Others About What They Want To Hear 🎙🎙🎙

It’s easy to get swept up in general chit-chat 🙊 and end up completely derailing — as humans, we have a tendency to do that.

But keep your eye on the prize 🏆.

After the initial friendly conversation and exchanges of “how are you” remember to focus on exactly 🫡 what it is that has brought said client to you .

Clients and customers like to know how you're going to best serve their needs, goals, interests, and aspirations. Swiftly addressing these topics in conversations establishes a sense of trust 😮‍💨.

What this tells them is that you’re on the ball 🏈 , and you’re a person on a mission, sure to meet their objective 🎯.

  1. Show Appreciation To Those Who Support You ❤️❤️❤️

Put simply, it feels good to be noticed for the things you do 😌. A simple “thank you” can go a really long way.

People like to recognise the positive impact they're making in other's lives.

More often than not, it’s not the desire to do a nice thing that keeps people showing you support, it's the being noticed for it that makes it continue 😉.

We can all relate to this.

Have you ever done a small kind gesture and then been shown the utmost gratitude?

Didn’t that make you want to go out of your way to do many pleasant things for the person following this?

Exactly 🙂.

  1. Give Genuine, Sincere Compliments 🥰🥰🥰

Flattery is an easy way into the hearts 🫀of people.

People, like you and me, like to feel goooood 😄.

The more you pay attention to people, the more you're able to learn about them and give compliments you mean to help build 👷🏿a rapport with them.

The shift from being a stranger ❌ to being on friendly terms 👭🏿 is often just shy of a few kind words.

  1. Identify Your Personal Core Values 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽

Knowing what you stand for gives you a fair sense of the kind of people 🧑🏾👩🏿👨🏽👵🏿👴🏾 you want to surround yourself with.

Consider how they will inevitably play a part in informing the kind of decisions you make in a work environment.

Being around those that align with your core values as you do to theirs will create an effortless sense of harmony 🕊.

This is because the chance of you seeing things eye to eye 👁  is higher.

  1. Learn How To Resolve Conflicts 🤺🤺🤺

Don’t be afraid of healthy 👍🏿 conflicts at work.

You cannot expect everyone to share your beliefs, ideas, or methods—if that was so there’d be no such thing as being a creative because there would only be ONE mindset 🧠.

There are ways to resolve conflicts and even use them as positive➕ experiences.

For one, maintain the ability to understand everyone's perspective so that you can find a middle ground.

  1. Remember To Always Have An Open Mind 🧠🧠🧠

Being open to new ideas and perspectives has wonderful implications for your work as a creative 🎨.

In experimenting and trying new things, you shift the trajectory of your growth 📈 to constantly accommodate your learnings and artistic improvements.

You want to avoid seeing a pattern in the way you work because want to be shifting regularly and trying new things ✊🏿.

By doing this, you’ll also be able to introduce yourself to alternative forms of problem-solving 👍🏾.

As a budding creative, you’ll find that the workplace can be just as much a place for building connections as any networking event.

In building those vital people skills that bring ease 🕊 to the interactions you have with colleagues, clients, and even potential clients, you create the opportunity to build relations which may positively 🎉 shape the work you do as a creative.

For instance, bridging a connection with a colleague could mean that they share opportunities with you. Or being considered likeable 🙂 and professional to a client could mean they offer you work you’ve always 🥹wanted to do.

Don’t undermine the power of people skills! 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
